Millions sit transfixed by television, buzz from place to place in gas guzzling, pollution spewing automobiles, smoking carbon monoxide injected cigarettes, chugging high fructose corn syruped soda and hormone infused dairy cows, or antibiotic injected beef while perusing the latest Hollywood marriage, birth or divorce episodes in a grocery story line.

Sexually tinged marketing, violent video games, the latest human behavior sold as a disease with a quick drug fix and the constant drone of war dominate an impotent media owned by the Military Industrial Complex whose marching orders come from the banks, and the families with money and power.

Overwhelmed by debt, a potential foreclosure or job loss, wages that do not keep up with prices, troubled family members or just the overwhelming stress of everyday life, many of these same millions do not have the time to give serious contemplative time to their loss of habeas corpus, the danger of illegal wiretapping and increased surveillance, the dangers of genetic food modification, the brutal U.S. occupation of Iraq disguised as democracy, the destruction of the dollar, chemicals sprayed into the atmosphere or the coming economic devastation.

The darkness at hand requires us to ponder the significance of a spiritual revelation and moral revolution, not merely a "changing of the guard" in Washington, D.C.

For years, politicians and pundits have counted on a divided electorate, or those who have lost the ability to think critically -and, on those who refuse to vote to keep their power structure intact.

Plato surmised that, " One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors."

I'm running for Congress to be a voice for the people, for truth, for the Constitution and to sound an alarm about the forces at work that are shaping our world.

Do not allow divisions of any kind to dissuade you from voting, or getting involved with this - or another - campaign. We are in the fight of our lives. It's about our children and grandchildren.
